Nicky Blake works as an artist blacksmith from her studio in a 16th Century forge on the Hampshire Surrey border, just by the river Wey. It's a beautiful spot with a long tradition of artistic creativity which continues on through her work.
Much of her inspiration comes from natural forms. Iron is the ideal material to work in, as when it is hot, it moves in a very organic way, spiraling and curling into fluid shapes. The creative energy of the fire that forms each piece is frozen within the iron as it cools.
Please see the galleries for examples of her work.
Nicky specialises in producing one off bespoke items in iron for both the home and garden and is happy to take commissions - please call or email.
